First time skiers at Cannon

On Sunday, 1/31/10, me and a group of friends went up skiing for the day at Cannon Mountain, NH. A couple of them had never been before, and my friend Raf was one of them. He had a hard-core attitude from the start, saying things like, "I only know one speed, and its FAST!" Problem was that he didn't know how to stop. He would haul ass down the bunny slopes, carving edges like a racer, but when it came time for him to slow down he would crash every time. After three runs on the bunny slope, I felt that he had mastered it and was ready for the big high speed chair lift. We went up there, and it was a lot steeper than anything he had skied before. When he went straight, he was FLYING! At one point, he's going so fast and cant control himself so he takes a spill, and it was more than a spill, it was a total Yard Sale. For sale there were individual skis, poles, a hat, and a broken pair of sunglasses. Raf was a little shaken up, cold, and had a cut and bruise on his forehead. We went in the lodge to warm up for a minute, and the first thing he says is, "I cant wait to get back out there."
No falls, no balls baby.
