Martin Adler

Chief Executive Officer

Martin is an avid outdoorsman and entrepreneur, who believes that increased participation in active sports will benefit our society. He originally conceived LifeUnderSun in December of 2007, while trying to decide whether to surf, ice climb or ski over the coming weekend.

Recognizing the lack of a central point of access to the outdoor world he set about designing a system that would connect people with their environment and one another. Martin is the Architect of LifeUnderSun’s mission to promote outdoor sports, lower barriers to entry for new participants, and enable collaboration throughout the outdoor community.

Martin combines his love of the outdoor culture with a passion for new technology and sharing of information. His goal is to demonstrate that good business can improve our quality of life, and he hopes to have fun along the way.

Cameron MacPherson

Chief Information Officer

Cameron hails from Wayland, Massachusetts and graduated from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst, Majoring in Legal Studies and Political Science, falling short of the information technologies minor he was too lazy (or overworked, depending on who you ask) to complete. He is the technical architect and webmaster of LifeUnderSun, and makes sure things run smoothly. Designing the site from the ground up with input from his good buddy Martin, his craft has made the site what it is today.

When not hammering out technological solutions on his mac (yes, that's right), he enjoys many different outdoor activities, such as: skiing, mountain biking, hiking, golfing, hunting, camping, fishing and kayaking (to name a few). He is also an avid but under-practiced Martial Artist, a situation he hopes to change now that he has a bit more free time.

Nick Knellinger

CTO/ Strategy Officer

Nick joined the LifeUnderSun team in December 2008. With an undergrad degree in Business with an Info Systems concentration at Boston College, he enjoys deriving technical solutions for functional problems...sometimes even harassed for actually enjoying glaring at lines of code. Growing up active in Colorado, he realized during his time on the east coast that getting outside and keeping active significantly improved his overall quality of life during the dreadful winter months cooped in the city.

Fortunately, Nick was introduced to Martin mid 2008 through a mutual friend from his time abroad in New Zealand. Eager to contribute to what he and Cameron had already begun, he began working with the team towards the development of their new system. He strives to maintain the relaxed, fun-loving, communal ideals that LifeUnderSun embodies. Nick believes that when people are out doing what they enjoy with others – be it getting lost in waste deep powder, playing pickup hockey, or just tossing the disc with a friend – the world is a happier place.
